More wandering about in London

Thumbs up - good work Captain

Tonight I set off with more of a goal and a route. First stop was Buckingham Palace to give the Queen a thumbs up and a cheery smile.

Following on from there I had a walk up Picadilly to check out Harrods and House of Fraser.

Harrods do not have any signs explaining where the departments are; but their cheery staff point you in the right direction. Nice stuff, but a bit expensive.

From there I wandered on down past Hyde Park, along Regent Street and Oxford Street; absorbing the whole shopping experience.

There’s plenty to see and do all over the place without trying much.

I cannot figure out what all the fuss is about parking in London. I found a perfect spot with plenty of space…

Easy parking; no worries

Wandering about in London

I’m staying in London near Waterloo. I do not know the area at all, or any of London come to that. I knew I was near the London Eye (you can’t miss it) so I just went for a wander to check it out.

Once I got there I was supprised by how big the London Eye acutally is; towering high over the London skyline. From there I could see Parliament just across the bank, so I went over to check it.

From there it became quite a sightseeing tour passing Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Cabinet War Rooms, Admiralty House, Downing Street, and Trafalgar Square to name a few.

I did not realise how central I was and how close all these were together. It’s given me a good taste to come back again and have a good explore. There are some lovely looking pubs along the route – will make a great day out with the camera.
